Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is an approach to personal development to help achieve significant increases in results. Neuro is the mind, linguistic is the language and programming are the patterns that we create. NLP was created by Richard Bandler and Robert Grinder in the 1970s when they saw how the relationship between our mind, language and programmes we run in our minds can be reprogrammed to achieve the results we want.
Your brain contains on average 100 billions neurons which create connection and circuits. Each neuron passes signals to each other to create to create trillions of synaptic connections, which is equivalent to a computer with a one trillion bit per second processor. The brain has an incredible memory capacity and many of these memories are patterns that have been created and stored in the subconscious mind which is not visible to us. Our conscious awareness operates on the subconscious. NLP changes behaviour by identifying the language we use and the patterns we have created and stored in our mind and changes them permanently by changing and reprogramming this association.
The main reason we are not experiencing what we want in our lives is the resistance caused by our own conscious or unconscious thoughts and patterns of thinking. Our mind is like an iceberg with 10% in the conscious awareness and 90% in the subconscious which is not visible. We are constantly in a state of hypnosis where we are following pre-programmed patterns that are stored deep within our subconscious mind and these programmed patterns, or beliefs, control our feelings and emotions, which in turn, control our behaviour. I break this down to get to the root of your issue to solve this problem and I use Hypnotic Visualisation to uncover the subconscious processes we have in our minds. It takes your subconscious mind on a journey of relaxation and awareness and changes behaviour by working on limiting beliefs and affirmations.
